Siri Shortcuts Integration with Samsung SmartThings Routines

Posted on

Samsung’s latest SmartThings update now supports Siri Shortcuts. According to a press release, you can use Siri to run SmartThings routines, making it easier to control your smart home with Apple’s voice assistant. Siri Shortcuts, available on iOS, allows you to run automations by simply asking Siri. You can create these shortcuts in the Shortcuts app or find them within manufacturers’ apps.

This update simplifies controlling your SmartThings setup using your iPhone, HomePod, or any other Apple device. For instance, you can ask Siri to kick off your “Good morning” routine through SmartThings, which will automatically adjust the lights, brew your coffee, and open the blinds when you wake up.

Samsung is also improving its SmartThings app for Apple users. On the Apple Watch, you can now access a complete list of your devices, send commands, and execute routines. Meanwhile, the SmartThings app for iOS allows you to see and control up to five of your most recently used devices directly from your lock screen using Live Activities.
