To foster inclusive economic development and improve trading opportunities in Northern Nigeria, particularly within Zamfara State, the Zamfara State Investment and Property Development Company Limited has entered into an alliance with Duchess Marketplace. This collaboration aims to support technological exchange and skill-development programs tailored for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses in the region.

On Thursday, an announcement from the investment firm stated that the collaboration was established through the initiative of ZSIPDCL’s Managing Director, Hajia Mariam Yaro, along with Dr. Victoria Akai, who is the CEO of Duchess Naturals Limited.

The two organizations concurred on collaborating to boost trade promotion, attract both international and domestic investments, develop micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and ease the process of technology transfer.

The significant collaboration highlighted will help establish agro-processing centers throughout the region, improve market accessibility for products from Zamfara, and actively support the integration of local business owners—including women and young people—into both domestic and global supply networks.

Regarding the agreement, the ZSIPDCL director commented that this transaction is an integral component of the state administration’s strategy to transform Zamfara into a prominent hub for investments.

“This partnership underscores our dedication to transforming Zamfara into a prosperous hub for investments and businesses. Together, we will uncover economic prospects and generate lasting employment for our community,” she asserted.

The CEO of Duchess Naturals Limited highlighted the significance of fostering inclusive trading environments and strengthening local capabilities.

We are privileged to collaborate with Zamfara State to foster development through trade. By establishing robust supply networks and linking local producers to international markets, we aim to drive lasting economic change.

The statement went on to explain that the collaboration will focus on various critical strategic sectors, such as facilitating both local and foreign investment flows.

Additional advantages encompass “the improvement and fortification of logistics and trading infrastructures; cooperative involvement in trade delegations and exhibitions; targeted advisory services and skill-development initiatives customized for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises within Zamfara; along with an intense endorsement of locally produced goods from Zamfara via both online channels and conventional brick-and-mortar markets.”
