Discover Your Spotify History with Spotigraph
Spotify Wrapped has become a beloved tradition for many users, myself included. Each year, it’s a thrill to see the stats—who your top artists are, what songs you played the most, and how Spotify categorizes genres in sometimes bewildering ways. However, as fun as Wrapped is, it often leaves us wanting more.
Ever wondered just how many total minutes of music you’ve streamed since setting up your account? Enter Spotigraph, the Spotify Data Visualizer that promises to reveal your entire listening history.
Unleashing the Power of Your Listening Data
If you’re curious about how much you’ve jammed out to your favorite tunes over the years, Spotigraph is your guide. It transforms your extensive Spotify history into a customizable visual graph, diving deep into your musical past and nostalgia.
How to Get Your Extended Data
The first step is to obtain your complete Spotify listening history, a process that can take a couple of days. Here’s how to get started:
- Login to Your Spotify Account through a web browser (this option isn’t available through the app).
- Navigate to Account > Security and Privacy > Account Privacy.
- Scroll to Account Data and click on Select Account Data.
- Choose Select Extended Streaming History. (While it mentions a potential 30-day preparation time, my data arrived in 48 hours.)
- Scroll down and click on Request Data.
Once your data is ready, Spotify will send you an email. Download the provided file; no need to extract it for the next steps.
Visualizing Your Listening Journey
Now, let’s dive into Spotigraph. Head to the site, and simply drag your Spotify data file into the designated area. Almost instantly, you’ll see your entire listening history unfold before your eyes. As a Spotify user for 14 years, my data reveal a treasure trove of music memories, including how often I replay certain songs.
For instance, Todd Terje’s "Inspector Norse" unexpectedly topped my list. It frequently pops up in playlists and Spotify’s AI-generated mixes. The stats also underscore shifts in my listening habits; I’ve transitioned from exploring a variety of albums to more frequently jumping between playlists that feature standalone tracks.
Interestingly, there’s a notable delay in processing artist data, which can take about 13 minutes—likely due to the sheer volume of artists one might listen to. But it’s worth the wait, especially when you realize you’ve streamed an artist like Kolsch for 62 hours!
More Than Just Stats: Reflecting on Milestones
One of my favorite features of Spotigraph is using it to reminisce about meaningful life moments. Curious about what you were listening to on significant days, like anniversaries or birthdays? Spotigraph delivers a unique glimpse into your musical timeline that can bring back vivid memories.
Why Spotigraph Stands Out
After trying several apps aimed at unveiling your complete Spotify listening history, Spotigraph by Yobeast takes the crown for its depth and detail. There are a few features that could enhance the experience:
- The ability to export your top tracks and albums into a new Spotify playlist.
- Indicating the artist next to each song in the history.
- Allowing more scrolling to access detailed data rather than losing it once it disappears.
- Adding insights into different genres you’ve explored.
Overall, Spotigraph elevates the experience of visualizing your Spotify history, providing a comprehensive look that makes you wonder why Spotify hasn’t developed a similar tool yet. It’s like Spotify Wrapped taken to the next level, and it’s definitely worth a try for any devoted music lover.
