As for the design, Leo Cardoso from Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish team shared his thoughts in a PS Blog post. He explained that the controller’s design draws inspiration from PlayStation’s iconic shades of blue, aiming to evoke feelings of anticipation and excitement every time you pick it up. Additionally, they’ve included Katakana characters on the back that represent the name PlayStation in Japanese: Pureisutēshon. It’s a thoughtful nod to the brand’s roots.
