Does the F77 Mach 2 Recon have what it takes to go up against the big players of Europe’s EV motorcycle market?

India’s
electric motorcycle
The industry has been rapidly gaining momentum—and now, it’s starting to create ripples far beyond its domestic market. At the forefront of this trend is Bengaluru-based
Ultraviolette
, has just announced its official entry into Europe via a new distribution deal with MotoMondo, covering the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

This represents a substantial move not only for Ultraviolette but also for India’s larger initiative towards electric vehicles. Although Chinese and European manufacturers have dominated the worldwide discussion about electric transportation until now, Indian firms—including those in the two-wheel sector—are quickly closing the gap.

Given the strong local demand and an expanding ecosystem for electric vehicle technology, companies such as Ultraviolette are now setting their sights beyond their borders, aiming at areas that are becoming more receptive to sleek, electrified solutions.

Ultraviolette’s launch in Europe will be led by the
F77 Mach 2 Recon
Its premier electric motorcycle, the Mach 2 Recon, aims to provide a harmonious combination of performance, aesthetics, and technology. Equipped with a 10.3 kWh battery pack, this model boasts a top power delivery of 40.5 horsepower (30.2 kW) and delivers 100 Nm of torque, placing it comparably to an average internal combustion engine (ICE) naked bike. The vehicle’s highest velocity reaches up to 155 kilometers per hour (96 mph). According to Ultraviolette, under optimal urban driving circumstances, the Mach 2 Recon can achieve a maximum travel distance of around 323 kilometers (201 miles).

While the F77 goes beyond mere specifications, it boasts a 5-inch TFT screen offering smartphone integration, dynamic riding modes, adjustable regeneration settings, and over-the-air software updates—all designed to attract technologically inclined riders. Additionally, this motorcycle features fully adjustable suspension, paired with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes, along with dual-channel anti-lock braking systems for enhanced performance and safety.

Regarding the cost, Ultraviolette has set an initial on-road price of £8,499 (approximately $10,500 USD) for orders placed before June 30, 2025; afterward, the price will go up to £9,399 (around $11,600 USD). This places it squarely among various mid-range electric motorcycles currently offered in Europe, making it quite an attractive option based on its features.

When considering performance and placement, the F77 Mach 2 Recon is quite similar to models such as the
Zero S
and
LiveWire S2 Del Mar
Although the Zero S provides marginally greater range in certain versions, the F77 beats it when it comes to pricing. In contrast to the LiveWire Del Mar, the Ultraviolette delivers comparable city-oriented performance but at a substantially lesser expense. For those seeking an economical yet advanced electric motorcycle with adequate range and good features, the F77 could be an appealing option over better-known brands.

Narayan Subramaniam, Ultraviolette’s CEO and co-founder, described the partnership with MotoMondo as a major milestone in the brand’s international journey. “MotoMondo’s track record with premium motorcycle brands gives us the confidence to deliver a seamless experience—on both the product and service front.” Likewise, MotoMondo Managing Director Jan Ykema echoed the sentiment, noting that the F77’s blend of performance and clean energy aligns with growing demand for eco-conscious alternatives in Europe’s urban and suburban markets.

It’s crucial to mention that Ultraviolette has garnered support from several prominent and influential investors including
TVS Motor Company
, Qualcomm Ventures, and Zoho Corporation. The firm develops and manufactures its motorcycles in India, aiming eventually to export to major international markets.

Currently, there has been no announcement regarding a US release; however, Ultraviolette’s move into the European market clearly indicates that India’s contemporary motorcycle manufacturers are preparing for an international rollout. They aim to make their mark globally armed with impressive capabilities.
