I’ve received a ton of Star Wars gifts over the years. I remember my first Christmas Day vividly—zooming Luke and his X-wing around the house. When I was 6, I even met Darth Vader (David Prowse). I can still recall the chill of fear as he walked through the double doors, reaching out over the crowd to shake my hand while my dad lifted me up. I never really questioned why the Dark Lord of the Sith showed up at Woolworth’s.
Once I became a dad, I had a perfect excuse to dive back into that galaxy far, far away and pick up new toys. I still kick myself for selling my old collectibles at a garage sale to help pay for our first home. My wife and I love the original films, while our kids are more into the prequels, but we all enjoy watching the latest shows together. Everyone knows I’m a fan, and I’ve given and received countless Star Wars gifts over the years. Here are some of my all-time favorites.
