Other MagSafe Power Banks to Consider

We like a few other MagSafe power banks that didn’t make it into our top picks.

Apple MagSafe Battery for iPhone Air for $99: The super slim iPhone Air lacks space for a large battery, so Apple offers this perfectly sized MagSafe add-on, capable of wirelessly charging at 12 watts. However, with only 3,149 mAh of power (charging the iPhone Air to 68 percent), it feels a bit pricey. Still, it’s specifically designed for the iPhone Air. You can use it with other iPhones, but you’ll need to rotate the power bank to hang it horizontally.

Statik State Power Bank for $60: This pack employs semisolid battery technology, meaning there’s less liquid inside, which makes it safer (won’t catch fire if damaged) and potentially lasts longer. Statik claims double the lifespan. It delivers a solid 5,000 mAh at up to 15 watts or 20-watt USB-C charging. It’s nice, but the similar Kuxiu power bank mentioned earlier is slightly smaller and cheaper.

Ecoflow Rapid Qi2 Power Bank for $40: Sleek, silver, and fast, this power bank is an impressive entry from a brand typically known for portable power stations. It is Qi2 certified for up to 15-watt wireless charging and features a built-in USB-C cable that provides up to 30 watts, along with a range of charging protocols (PD 3.0, PPS, and QC 3.0). To top it off, it includes a tiny kickstand.

Anker Nano Power Bank for $55: Anker has nearly matched the slimmest power bank on the list with its new Nano Qi2 power bank, which measures just 0.34 inches thick. It stays cool, charges at up to 15 watts, and can fill most compatible phones to just over the 50 percent mark. If you’re after a sleek Qi2-certified power bank, this one is a solid choice.

Mous MagSafe Compatible Wireless Power Bank for $40: I don’t have any significant complaints about this MagSafe power bank. The 6,000 mAh capacity is adequate for a 70 to 80 percent refill for most iPhones. It has a rounded design with a soft finish, though it is a bit thick. It maxes out at 15 watts for charging, with a USB-C port that supports 20 watts.

Vonmählen Evergreen Mag Magnetic Power Bank for £60: The main draw of this magnetic wireless power bank is Vonmählen’s eco-friendly credentials. The German manufacturer uses recycled materials, including 27 percent cobalt, 90 percent aluminum, and 100 percent plastics. There are no compromises in design or functionality. This MagSafe battery pack is sleek (8.6 mm) and boasts Qi2 certification, offering 15-watt wireless and 20-watt wired charging via USB-C. It’s currently available only in the UK and Europe but is expected to arrive in the US soon.

Scosche PBQ5MS2 Portable MagSafe Phone Charger for $40: This slim power bank features decent magnets, four LEDs to indicate remaining power, and a small USB-C cable included. It has a 5,000 mAh capacity, but max charging (wireless and wired) is limited to 10 watts. You might find better performers in the same price range.

Burga Magnetic Power Bank for $100: If you’re not keen on the idea of attaching a bulky charger to your iPhone, consider investing in one of Burga’s stylish MagSafe power banks. Made from tempered glass and anodized steel, these attractive chargers come in various eye-catching designs. The camo model I tested has strong magnets and charged my iPhone 14 Pro wirelessly (7.5 watts) to about 70 percent from 0. The USB-C port can provide 20 watts. The downside is the relatively high price for the lower 5,000 mAh capacity.

Groov-e Power Bank for £30: This budget-friendly MagSafe charger is only available in the UK but offers a commendable 10,000 mAh capacity with a display showing the exact percentage remaining. It supports 15-watt wireless charging (7.5 watts for iPhones) and has a USB-C port charging devices at up to 20 watts. It’s somewhat bulky, but the strong magnets worked well when tested, providing a full charge for my iPhone 14 Pro with around 30 percent left.

Belkin BoostCharge Wireless Power Bank for $33: With a 5,000 mAh capacity and handy kickstand, this MagSafe power bank is decent. The color options (especially purple) are appealing, but the magnets feel a bit weak, and the kickstand is best for landscape use (it’s unstable in portrait). It didn’t quite deliver a full charge for my iPhone 14 Pro.

Bezalel Prelude XR Wireless Power Bank for $79: Bezalel’s clever X range includes two MagSafe power banks and a wireless charging plug. The XR, which I tested, has a 10,000 mAh capacity, while the smaller X ($80) has 5,000 mAh. The XR is bulky, and the kickstand feels flimsy, but it provides ample power to fully charge an iPhone 14 Pro. Both power banks charge iPhones at 7.5 watts and other Qi wireless phones at up to 15 watts, plus you can charge your AirPods on the other side at 3 watts. They also come with USB-C ports capable of delivering 20 watts.

Mophie Snap+ Juice Pack Mini for $45: This 5,000 mAh power bank works well but is slightly larger than it should be. It’s compatible with MagSafe iPhones and includes an optional attachment for non-MagSafe phones. Mophie’s Snap+ Powerstation Stand ($70) offers double the capacity and includes a kickstand, but it’s quite bulky.

RapidX Boosta Power Bank for $50: Available in bright colors, this MagSafe power bank provides 5,000 mAh of power and has an optional charging stand with a USB-C jack for sliding it onto. This portable charger added a notable 76 percent to my iPhone 14 Pro battery, but wired USB-C charging is limited to 10 watts.

Avoid These MagSafe Power Banks

Some of the MagSafe portable chargers we tested aren’t worth your time.

Alogic Matrix Universal Magnetic Power Bank: This lightweight, 5,000 mAh magnetic power bank looks awkward due to its angular shape, designed to fit into a 2-in-1 dock, a 3-in-1 dock, and a couple of car docks, similar to Anker’s 633 above. Unfortunately, one of the Alogic batteries I tested failed to charge, and the working one only managed to add 74 percent to my iPhone 14 Pro.

HyperJuice Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack: This 5,000 mAh MagSafe power bank looks attractive with four LEDs and a round power button but has a USB-C port limited to 12 watts and only managed to charge my iPhone 14 Pro to 71 percent.

UAG Lucent Power Kickstand: This MagSafe power bank features a curved design with a soft-touch coating and a sturdy metal kickstand. Unfortunately, its capacity is only 4,000 mAh, yet it’s as large as some higher-capacity options. It added just under 60 percent to my iPhone 14 Pro while charging wirelessly at 7.5 watts. The USB-C charging capacity goes up to 18 watts, but there are better options for your money.

Moft Snap Stand Power Set: I appreciate the soft faux leather finish; this power bank feels good in hand and looks great. However, the 3,400 mAh capacity only charged my iPhone 14 Pro by 41 percent. It comes with a magnetically attached folding stand and wallet, allowing space for a couple of cards or emergency cash. I like that you can detach the power bank when it’s dead while keeping the stand, but it simply doesn’t provide enough power.
