It’s the best time of year to buy a new smartphone. I review tons of handsets every year and always recommend getting unlocked phones—no need to be tied to a carrier! The price of a new phone can be overwhelming, so these Black Friday phone deals can help lighten the financial load. Whether you’re in the market for a folding phone, like the sleek Galaxy Z Fold, or the latest magnetic Google Pixel 10, you’ll find a great upgrade in this list. Looking for more discounts? Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra
Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is offering solid discounts this Black Friday, likely because its successors are on the way—the Galaxy S26 series is set to be announced in January. If you can hold off on getting the latest model, you’ve got three fantastic options. The S25 is the most compact, the S25+ has a larger screen and better battery life, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra ups the ante with a dual telephoto camera system, built-in S Pen, and a powerful battery. Check out our Best Samsung Phones guide for more info on these devices.
Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL
One of the standout features of Google’s new Pixel 10 series (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is that they’re the first flagship Android phones with Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. This means you can use magnetic accessories and enjoy faster wireless charging, similar to MagSafe for iPhones. These phones boast excellent cameras, solid performance, and tons of smart software features. Plus, they’re the first Androids to support AirDrop with iPhones, Macs, and iPads. Google Pixel 9a
If you’re on the hunt for a new handset, the Google Pixel 9a (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is a top pick. If brand loyalty isn’t a big deal for you, this phone offers the best balance of features and price, and the sale makes it even better. Its camera system is hard to beat at this price point, and if you dislike bulky camera bumps, you’ll love the flat-back design. The performance is flagship-ready with the same Tensor chip found in the Pixel 9 Pro, plus you’ll get great software perks like Call Screen to filter out spam calls.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7
Folding phones are more durable than ever. Seriously! Companies have been improving their sturdiness while making them slimmer. The Galaxy Z Fold7 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is my favorite book-like folding phone this year—it’s surprisingly slim and feels more like a traditional phone when closed. Use the front screen normally, and when you need more space, just unfold it for a larger display or to multitask with split-screen options. If you’re not keen on a big folding phone, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is a solid update with a more practical front screen. While these devices can still be pricey, Black Friday makes them a bit more budget-friendly. Check out our Best Folding Phones guide for more options.
Motorola Razr Ultra and Razr (2025)
Interested in a folding flip phone? Consider the Motorola Razr Ultra (8/10, WIRED Recommends). Imagine folding your current phone in half—that’s basically what this phone offers. Right now, the Razr Ultra is the best in its class, featuring a stylish design, great performance, impressive cameras, and a functional external display. It’s perfect for those who dislike large phones. There’s also the more affordable Razr 2025, which may not perform as well but still offers fantastic value, especially on sale. Check our Best Motorola Phones guide for more information.
Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025
Want a phone with a headphone jack and a microSD card slot? If you answered yes, this is the smartphone for you. It’s a great deal, delivering smooth performance along with a bright, sharp screen and an integrated stylus. The textured back looks upscale, and while it may not receive many software updates, it’s hard to beat at this price, especially with 256 GB of storage.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE
It may not be flashy, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is a reliable Android phone that’s better valued at the current $175 discount. Honestly, it’s not worth its MSRP because you can usually find a Galaxy S25 discounted to about that price. But under $500? You get a solid triple-camera system with a 3x optical zoom, smooth performance, all-day battery life, and flagship features like Qi2 wireless charging and IP68 water resistance. Plus, it’ll receive seven years of software updates.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold
If you love Pixel phones but want a folding option, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is pretty much your best choice. The cameras aren’t quite as good as those on the Pixel 10 Pro series, but they’re still very capable. While it’s not as slim as the Galaxy Z Fold7, it’s one of the few folding phones with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Launched last month, this is a great discount for a newer model—having Qi2 magnets in a foldable is a nice touch.
Nothing’s Phone (3)
Nothing’s Phone (3) (7/10, WIRED Recommends) stands out from the pack with its unique design. The Android interface is visually appealing, and the fun Glyph Matrix display on the back shows notifications and even lets you play rock, paper, scissors. It’s a quirky device with smooth performance, solid cameras, 256 GB of storage, and good battery life. While it might not be the best bang for your buck, its design could win you over.
OnePlus 13
Even though it launched in January, the OnePlus 13 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) isn’t the latest flagship anymore; that title goes to the OnePlus 15. While the newest isn’t on sale, the OnePlus 13 is still a strong smartphone with good battery life, super fast charging, and a decent camera system. Keep in mind that this camera partnership with Hasselblad is switching as the OnePlus 15 rolls out.
What About iPhone Deals?
Apple typically doesn’t offer sales, so you won’t find discounted iPhones at third-party retailers. The best way to save a bit is to check out Black Friday offers from carriers. While we usually recommend unlocked devices, most people upgrade through their carrier. Here’s what the three major carriers have going on:
- Verizon: Their Black Friday deal includes an iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch, and iPad for free when you sign up for a new line on select unlimited plans, although you’ll need a cellular plan for the watch and iPad.
- T-Mobile: Similar to Verizon, you can get an iPhone 17 Pro, iPad (A16), and Apple Watch SE3 for free by trading in an eligible phone in any condition on an Experience Beyond plan. Be sure to read the fine print.
- AT&T: They’re offering the iPhone Air for under $3 a month if you get a new line—you’ll need a 36-month plan and must qualify. This online-only offer ends December 1.
