Tesla
has had to halt accepting orders for two of its models in China due to difficulties adapting to the tariffs imposed by President Trump.

Elon Musk

His firm has eliminated the ”
Order now
” button for the
Model S
sedan and
Model X
SUVs, both of which are imported from the United States.

Although Tesla hasn’t formally commented on this decision, it coincides with an escalation of tensions between Washington and Beijing in their ongoing trade conflict. The United States has levied a 145% duty on Chinese products, whereas China has responded with a 125% tax on items from America.

Consequently, automobiles produced in the United States have turned into an unaffordable option for many Chinese consumers, who now prefer more budget-friendly electric vehicles made domestically.

Tesla
has been operating a megafactory in Shanghai since 2020, where it manufactures the
Model 3
and
Model Y
,enabling the firm to partly mitigate the effect of tariffs.

Last month,
Tesla
alerted the U.S. administration that increasing tariffs might substantially damage American enterprises.
