An American youth of Indian descent has developed a smartphone application powered by artificial intelligence that can detect heart disease within seven seconds using audio analysis. This innovative tool boasts an astounding 96% accuracy rate and seeks to assist underprivileged populations around the world.

Siddharth Nandyala, who is 14 years old, has recently created Circadian AI, a mobile app aimed at quickly assessing heart sounds for convenient diagnosis of cardiovascular issues.

Siddharth hails originally from Anantapur, India, but currently resides in Frisco, Texas. He holds credentials as the planet’s youngest artificial intelligence specialist, having earned certifications from Oracle Corporation—a prominent U.S.-based technology firm recognized for its work with databases and cloud computing solutions—as well as from ARM, a renowned British enterprise specializing in semiconductor and software designs. Through Circadian AI, Siddharth is at the forefront of expanding access to innovative healthcare diagnostics. This application leverages sophisticated algorithms to examine heart sounds and provide immediate diagnostic outcomes. To date, Circadian AI has undergone testing with over 15,000 individuals in the United States and approximately 700 people in India, showcasing an impressive precision level of up to 96 percent.

Last week, Nandyala elaborated on how the application functions and shared his inspiration behind it: “Circadian AI fundamentally serves as an automated tool capable of providing a comprehensive overview of your cardiac health simply from a 7-second recording of your heartbeat. This allows one to determine if their heart shows signs of irregularities or exhibits overall good cardiovascular condition.”

“All you have to do is position it close to the heart, record for 7 seconds, and it provides a diagnosis. The device can identify more than 40 different kinds of cardiovascular conditions,” he mentioned.

He explained that at present, the application is designed solely for clinical assessments within hospitals.

Recently, Circadian AI went through extensive testing at the Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH) in Andhra Pradesh, India, where it effectively showcased rapid and precise detection abilities.

In a study conducted at GGH Guntur, the AI examined 505 patients and identified 10 instances of cardiovascular disease. Another investigation carried out at the same facility evaluated 863 participants, finding 16 cases of such conditions. Furthermore, at GGH Vijayawada, the AI application was used to screen 992 people, resulting in 19 being flagged for possible cardiac problems.

“Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deep admiration for Siddharth’s remarkable talent and commitment to leveraging technology for humanity’s betterment,” he stated on X on March 17 following his meeting with Nandyala.
