Tech with Joana Abbiw: Episode 10 – Staying Relevant and Human in the AI Era: The Quiet Revolution

Posted on

In the last nine episodes, we’ve delved into how leadership evolves in a world more and more influenced by artificial intelligence.

We’ve discussed changing perspectives, acquiring abilities, grasping human dynamics, and appearing with lucidity. This concluding episode isn’t a recap. Instead, it’s a call to progress with intentionality.

The world is changing. Fast. But that does not mean we have to lose our sense of what matters. If anything, this is the time to hold it close.

Artificial intelligence is no longer some distant concept. It now resides within the tools we utilize every day, in the decision-making systems, and in the services we depend upon.

It influences the way we communicate, the manner in which we work, and even our relationships with each other. Nevertheless, the duty to guide with wisdom and compassion remains ours, not transferred to technology.

Staying current nowadays doesn’t mean following each emerging fad. Instead, it’s about staying observant. It involves thinking critically during an era that values rapidity. It’s also about discerning moments for communication versus reflection and recognizing times to advance as well as instances to halt.

Human leadership continues to be crucial. The capacity for deep listening, responding empathetically, fostering trust during uncertain periods, and uniting individuals despite their differences has never been stronger. Although machines excel at analyzing information, they cannot provide significance. That capability belongs solely to humans. Similarly, showing kindness and guiding others with genuine care is exclusive to human beings.

Being relevant isn’t just about having knowledge; it’s also about how you connect with people. It involves carrying yourself according to your principles. It means making others feel noticed and assisted. Such attributes never become outdated. Instead, they gain strength through consistent use.

So how do we move forward from here?

Continue learning. However, avoid hurrying the process. Absorb information at your own speed. Allow time for contemplation. Formulate more insightful queries. Maintain a keen interest in understanding individuals rather than just focusing on technology.

Continue appearing regularly. Whether it’s at your workplace, during discussions, or in locations significant to you. Make an appearance even when it seems nobody is observing. This consistent presence behind-the-scenes helps mold the environment around us.

Maintain your guidance. Regardless of whether you oversee a group or mentor someone, leadership is about embodying certain qualities. This is reflected in your honesty, in keeping your promises, and in the way you interact with others even when there’s no personal advantage for you.

Technological advancements will persist. Certain tasks will become simpler. Yet others may seem more intricate. However, the requirement for solid, people-focused leadership will not diminish. In fact, it will intensify.

This marks the last episode of our series. However, it signifies the start of your subsequent phase. Being quiet doesn’t mean you won’t get noticed. Making waves isn’t solely about being omnipresent. Simply remain considerate. Remain steady. Remain genuine.

Most importantly, keep in mind that leadership isn’t defined by titles or fads. Instead, it’s rooted in trust. This trust is established gradually, discreetly, and with intention.
