On Saturday, SpaceX sent another group of Starlink satellites into orbit from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The Falcon 9 launch vehicle transported 21 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit.
Twelve of these had Direct to Cell technology installed, aiming to eradicate mobile device dead zones globally.
The satellites were deployed approximately one hour after the rocket launch, allowing them to start maneuvering into their designated orbits as part of SpaceX’s expanding constellation.
Currently, Starlink boasts thousands of satellites in space, offering internet access across more than 100 nations.
Although SpaceX claims it aims to provide connectivity to isolated regions, concerns have emerged regarding the increasing quantity of satellites in orbit and their potential effects on the environment.
Concerns from critics include issues related to space debris, air pollution, and the potential for collisions within low Earth orbits as the number of satellites continues to increase.
