PlayStation Announces MLB The Show Mobile Game Release

MLB The Show is making its way to iOS and Android with the launch of MLB The Show Mobile. Sony describes it as “a new standalone experience built from the ground up to deliver realistic baseball gameplay on mobile devices.” The game is currently available only in the Philippines (you can find it on Google Play), but Sony plans to “expand availability to more players around the world.” However, there’s “no set timeline for expansion,” according to their FAQ.

The game is optimized for the iPhone 16 and similar devices, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S25, Sony Xperia V, or comparable models. Users with higher-end devices can enjoy “enhanced graphics, increased frame rates, and higher resolutions.” But since it’s a standalone title, it won’t feature crossplay with other platforms.

The announcement of MLB The Show Mobile follows another surprise release from PlayStation: last month’s unveiling of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a mobile arena shooter set in the iconic Ratchet & Clank universe. Sony indicated years ago that it was shifting its focus toward mobile gaming, evident from the establishment of a PlayStation Studios Mobile Division in 2022.
