Chosen from more than 120 start-ups spanning 22 states, Plastics For Change received recognition for its technology-driven supply chain system that links unregistered waste collectors with international companies. This initiative adds transparency, traceability, and respect within the recycled plastic sector.
“We confirm the importance of our transparent and ethical sourcing system through this acknowledgment,” stated Srinidhi Kashyap, Chief Operating Officer. “Our solution assists companies in incorporating recycled plastics into their supply chain processes with complete openness as well as positive societal effects, all while backing those involved in recycling efforts.”
Shifrah Jacobs, co-founder and chief impact officer, commented, “The waste collectors form the foundation of the circular economy. This backing enables us to expand with intent, infusing greater respect, opportunities, and equity into the supply chain.”
Founded in 2016, Plastics For Change transforms discarded plastic into high-quality, Fair-Trade Verified recycled materials. The responsible sourcing platform connects informal waste collectors with global brands like L’Oreal, The Body Shop, and many more, enabling them to replace virgin plastic with ethically sourced recycled plastic. This initiative is all about improving the livelihoods of the ultra-poor and preventing plastic from entering the ocean.
Thanks to this financing, the organization will extend its reach to additional cities, reinforce its structural framework, and improve its tracking technology, enabling further brands to comply.
