The governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has launched an initiative called the Ekiti Dashboard, which serves as a strategic pillar monitoring system designed to boost effectiveness through continuous and up-to-date tracking of governmental initiatives and ventures with the aim of ensuring cost-efficiency.
Oyebanji stated that the effectiveness of an administration relied on its capacity to effectively oversee and assess the execution of projects.
The governor made this statement in Ado Ekiti on Thursday during the inauguration of the Dashboard.
He characterized the program as an aspect of his government’s dedication to openness, accountability, and high standards in civil duties.
He said, “The innovative platform will further enable this administration to identify challenges promptly, allocate resources effectively, improve service delivery and ensure timely completion of critical projects aligned with his six pillars of development.
This dashboard serves as an advanced instrument crafted to offer up-to-the-minute data regarding the condition, advancement, and influence of every governmental project within Ekiti State. It gives me great pleasure to announce that this pioneering system marks its debut in Nigeria and stands testament to our steadfast dedication to openness, responsibility, and superior quality in public administration.
Oyebanji praised the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, headed by Dr John Ekundayo, for their innovative approach to project monitoring and evaluation.
The governor characterized the plan as “a transformative move that will enhance citizen engagement by offering instruments for overseeing and assessing performance. Additionally, this system will facilitate tracking advancements and supervising project implementations from start to finish.”
He stated, “I am immensely pleased to be present today for the inauguration of the strategic pillar monitoring system dashboard, an ICT framework designed to facilitate continuous and up-to-the-minute tracking of governmental programs and initiatives.”
John Ekundayo, the Special Adviser for the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, stated, “This initiative aims to monitor the advancement of initiatives statewide, aligning with the six key areas outlined by the administration.”
Ekundayo said, “The SPMS is more than just a tool, it represents our commitment to transparency, efficiency and result-driven governance by harnessing the power of data, cutting-edge technology in revolutionising our approach to project management, enabling us to track progress, make informed decisions, depict transparency and ensure accountability.
The Dashboard stands as evidence of Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to utilizing technology for effective governance. With the launch of the Ekiti Dashboard, the state is entering an era marked by cooperation, creativity, and high standards.
I thus encourage all parties involved to use this tool to foster positive changes and update the state Dashboard by circulating the link, thereby guaranteeing the successful implementation of our initiatives as we move toward the government’s vision of collective economic growth.
At the forefront among the key governmental officials present at the gathering were the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro; the Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi; the Chief of Staff, Mr. Niyi Adebayo; along with members of the State Executive Council and leaders from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
