The 83rd Golden Globes spotlighted streaming platforms with Netflix taking home the most awards. Netflix led the charge with seven wins, while Apple TV and HBO Max each scored three, and Hulu managed to secure one.

Among Netflix’s big wins, the acclaimed series “Adolescence” walked away with four awards, including Best Limited Series. Stephen Graham won for Best Actor, while Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty grabbed the awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in a miniseries, respectively. Additionally, Netflix’s most-watched title, “KPop Demon Hunters,” won both Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.

Netflix’s success at the Golden Globes coincides with its plans for significant moves in Hollywood, including the acquisition of Warner Bros. These victories underscore Netflix’s rising influence and may bolster investor confidence that it can handle the legacy of a major entity like Warner Bros. This could signify that the merger has the potential to be transformative.

On the other hand, Apple TV scored two awards for “The Studio,” claiming Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy) and Best Actor in a TV Series, awarded to Seth Rogen. Rhea Seehorn also won for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama for her role in “Pluribus.”

HBO celebrated its success with “The Pitt,” a medical drama that took home two Golden Globes, including one for actor Noah Wylie.

Hulu had a single win from Michelle Williams, who was named Best Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series for her performance in “Dying For Sex.” However, other Hulu Originals such as “Only Murders in the Building,” “Paradise,” “Chad Powers,” and “The Bear” did not translate their nominations into wins.

Meanwhile, Disney+ received 15 nominations this year for shows like “Andor” and “Elio,” but unfortunately walked away empty-handed.

In a noteworthy addition, the Golden Globes introduced a Best Podcast category, which Amy Poehler won for “Good Hang with Amy Poehler.” Other nominees included Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” and “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.”
