Addis Ababa, April 11, 2025 (ENA) – The Ministry of Transport and Logistics stated its ongoing efforts to modernize transport and logistics service delivery through digital technology expansion, with plans for further enhancement.
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics, together with the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, has created the Integrated Freight Transport Management System (IFTMS).
At the debut of the IFTMS, Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime highlighted the continuous reforms aimed at speeding up and improving service provision within the industry.
The minister highlighted that the recently introduced system will play a crucial role in updating and optimizing freight transportation services. They also spoke about forthcoming digital advancements as part of the larger initiative to digitize the industry.
After verifying the timely completion of the project, Worku Gachena, the Director General of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, stated that the institute will keep working on cutting-edge technologies to enhance service provision and tackle current issues.
He stated the institute’s dedication to advancing artificial intelligence skills aimed at boosting Ethiopia’s standing within Africa.
