On Saturday and Sunday, customers couldn’t complete contactless transactions, leading to pandemonium in shops where shoppers had to leave their filled shopping carts at the checkout counters.
Orders for click-and-collect services were likewise held up, adding another setback for consumers.
Currently, the retailer has informed customers that it will not be accepting any orders via its website or mobile application.

M&S has enlisted cybersecurity specialists to assist in addressing the fallout from the attack.
The company stated they were “putting in significant effort” to get online and app purchases up and running again.
Nevertheless, they have not specified an anticipated timeframe for resolving the issue, which has been brought to the attention of the National Cyber Security Centre.
The company stated: “As part of our active handling of a cybersecurity issue, we have decided to temporarily halt order placements through our M&S.com site and applications.”
‘The selection of our products continues to be accessible online. We genuinely apologize for this disruption.’

On Tuesday, we notified our customers that they did not need to take any steps. This still holds true, and should anything change, we will inform them accordingly.
‘The seasoned team we have – bolstered by top cybersecurity professionals – is putting in tremendous effort to restore online and mobile purchasing.’
‘We are incredibly grateful to our customers, colleagues and partners for their understanding and support.’
