Larian CEO Clarifies No AI Replacement for Studio Teams

Posted on

We’re actively expanding our team of concept artists, writers, and storytellers. We’re setting up writer rooms, casting actors, recording performances, and hiring translators. Specifically, we currently have 23 concept artists on board and are looking to add even more. These talented individuals are busy creating concept art daily for both ideation and production needs.

Our focus is on making incremental improvements that allow people to spend more time being creative. The machine learning tools we’re exploring are designed to enhance the workflow for creative teams and individuals—they’re not meant to replace anyone’s skills or craft. We’re dedicated to researching the latest advancements in machine learning, ensuring it serves as a valuable resource for creatives, ultimately helping us create better games.

It’s important to clarify that we are not releasing any games with AI components, nor are we considering cutting down teams to substitute them with AI. While this topic can stir strong emotions, we continually discuss it internally with an emphasis on improving everyone’s work experience, not detracting from it.
