Isn’t it supposed to focus on assembling bicycles?

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but
KTM isn’t performing quite well.
.

Perhaps you’ve been off the grid? Maybe you were among the two astronauts who spent the past nine months aboard the International Space Station? Or perhaps you simply haven’t paid heed to anything beyond the realm of archery? In any event, KTM
basically went bust
A few months ago and has been working hard to put together the remnants of its disintegrating empire.

And the deck appears to be stacked against the company’s future at this point. In other words,

In late March, details about the new 2025 motorcycles were revealed. However, KTM has not disclosed which specific models these include, leaving everyone curious.
postponed others
, but at least there’s that.

It seems somewhat strange that the company would be out testing a prototype of what looks like a 690 Adventure R, spotted by
ADV Pulse
, where numerous outdated motorcycles remain parked on the lots, and production isn’t really picking up speed. But perhaps I’m just exaggerating?

Sure, I understand that you need to look ahead despite being utterly terrified. As Dory famously said, “Just keep swimming.” However, it’s quite bizarre that KTM is investing resources, money, and effort into a bike that isn’t out yet, especially since they’ve delayed launching models that were previously announced.

Sure, multitasking can be effective. It makes sense to handle several projects simultaneously with adequate personnel and resources at your disposal. However, KTM lacks both these elements. Additionally, the brand cannot afford any errors. Considering that the firm is constrained due to insufficient resources for running multiple production lines, it seems questionable why they would allocate any assets towards developing this specific prototype motorcycle.

Couldn’t those resources be utilized more effectively somewhere else?

Let me put it this way: the bike certainly has an appealing look. KTM’s mid-range adventure bikes have generally been solid choices. They might come with a hefty price tag, which is true for much of their range. Talking about pricing, doesn’t another costly model contribute to KTM’s current financial struggles? Disregarding all other elements affecting resources, shouldn’t KTM concentrate on producing more budget-friendly motorcycles rather than yet another pricey option like a $20,000 middleweight adventure bike when others offer similar models at roughly half the cost?

Anyway, KTM appears to still be sticking to their style. Best of luck, Mattighofen!
