New Delhi [India], April 11 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the robust bilateral relationship between India and Italy, noting that this “partnership is grounded in our shared commitment to democracy, as well as mutual respect for our civilizations, cultures, and heritages.”

At the Italy-India Business, Science and Technology Forum, Antonio Tajani, who serves as the Vice President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, was among those in attendance alongside Piyush Goyal, India’s Commerce Minister. Also present were Anna Maria Bernini, the Italian Minister for Universities and Research.

At the Italy-India Business, Science and Technology Forum, Jaishankar highlighted the Italy-India Joint Strategic Action Plan for 2025-2029. This plan was approved by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni when they met during the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18, 2024, with an emphasis on enhancing mutual collaboration.

Jaishankar stated that the plan, approved by our Prime Ministers, encapsulated their perspective on strengthening the bilateral strategic relationship between our two nations.

“The tangible results will be advantageous for both parties involved. We were tasked with collaborating within our own industries as well as partnering with our research organizations and academic institutions to promote cooperation, joint development, innovation, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise between us,” he noted.

Jaishankar emphasized the shared perspective of both nations, stating, “The collaboration between India and Italy is grounded in our commitment to democracy, reverence for our respective civilizations, cultures, and legacies. However, most importantly, it thrives on a mutual outlook towards fostering a secure, orderly, and flourishing global community.”
