India doles out 450,000 MT for Green Hydrogen Projects in Q1

In the meantime, two “important” tenders were released.

In the first quarter of 2025, Indian authorities granted approvals for green hydrogen projects totaling a combined capacity of 450,000 metric tons annually to nine firms.

As per JMK Research & Analytics, these initiatives come with a highest set benefit limit of INR 2238.59 crore and fall under the SIGHT Program (Category – Mode 1 Batch 2).

Two significant green hydrogen tenders were announced, specifically those from NTPC Renewable Energy and NLC India Limited.

In the recent quarter, INOX Air Products launched its inaugural green hydrogen plant at Asahi India’s location in Soniyana, Chittorgarh. This new facility has an overall production capability of 190 metric tons per annum (TPA).
