FaZe Clan Faces Uncertain Future as Key Influencers Leave

Six influencers have announced their departure from esports group FaZe Clan after unsuccessful contract talks with the new management team.

According to Bloomberg, the influencers — known as Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, Rage, and Silky — all revealed their decision to leave, marking the exit of their complete roster from the FaZe Clan website.

Adapt shared his sentiments on X, stating he had been part of FaZe Clan for 14 years: “Over half of my life, I’d be lying if I said this didn’t hurt, but it had to be done.”

Another former member who left in August described the situation as feeling like they had “no control, and it’s like we’re puppets.”

Sources say the influencers had been in negotiations with FaZe Clan investor HardScope and CEO Matt Kalish for the past six months. Kalish plans to move forward with the organization without the influencers who have left.

“My best guess is they’re all good kids and have a lot of people in their ear and are confused,” he told Bloomberg. He also mentioned that the organization’s current financial model is “unsustainable.”

FaZe Clan went public in 2022, but was acquired by GameSquare for $17 million the following year, resulting in the firing of its CEO.
