The Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, has stated that the forthcoming Ethiopian Tamrit Expo 2025 will highlight cutting-edge technologies designed to boost national competitiveness and support domestically produced goods.

At a press briefing held on Wednesday, Minister Melaku announced that the third iteration of the Expo will commence on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the new international convention center located in Addis Ababa.

This five-day gathering will showcase the most recent developments in industrial technology and function as a platform for bolstering Ethiopia’s manufacturing industry, with an emphasis on the “Made in Ethiopia” initiative.

The minister likewise acknowledged the local industries for surmounting significant obstacles, boosting their production capabilities, and aiding in the rising adoption of locally manufactured products.

He mentioned that the Expo anticipates attracting over 120,000 attendees from domestic and global markets and will involve 288 participating sectors. Additionally, it is forecasted that trade deals during this event will surpass four billion birr.

As stated by the minister, major goals will encompass expanding market linkages, improving quality, fostering innovation, and facilitating technology transfer.

He likewise highlighted backing initiatives like local expos, fairs, and the Ethiopian Product 10K run, which have been instrumental in boosting public consciousness and fostering interest in Ethiopian goods.

Besides the primary exhibit, the Expo will also include panel discussions, product development contests, and award ceremonies honoring leading sectors. He highlighted that these efforts are designed to cultivate a dynamic industrial environment and reinforce the nation’s role as a formidable competitor in the international marketplace.
