Unexpected Challenges in Filming

Wiseman explained that the fight involved breakaway plates, designed to shatter upon impact without causing injury to the actors. However, the execution proved to be more problematic than anticipated.
“The restaurant fight is a favorite of mine because it conveys critical narrative elements and was incredibly enjoyable to film,” Wiseman shared. “However, managing the plate sequence became one of the most difficult moments during production. The plates served a singular purpose: to break on contact, but they had a tendency to shatter prematurely.”
The Struggles with Props
The difficulties were primarily logistical. Wiseman elaborated on how the actors needed to delicately pick up the plates before bringing them down on their opponents with enough force to create a dramatic effect. Every time the plates were handled, there was a risk they would fall apart. “I lost track of how many times we had to reassemble them,” he noted.
The props department originally suggested having 100 plates for the sequence, which turned out to be far too few. “We went through multiple sets, which left them in quite a state by the end of the filming,” he remarked.
