The head of a cleaning business in Melbourne has missed out on tens of thousands of dollars after utilizing artificial intelligence to compose several email messages.

The company CEO had aimed to boost the organization’s efficiency, yet a single error ended up costing over $2000 when they overlooked the miscalculation.

Instead of having staff members manually write down individual cleaning tasks, they could enter details like the kind of service needed, and allow the software to handle the rest.

An AI-driven tool would subsequently create an email encompassing the services offered, their respective prices, along with a project estimate for every client.

However, the instrument generated multiple emails containing errors that went unnoticed by the staff at the cleansing firm.

The AI tool incorrectly provided various services not needed, but did not adjust the quotes to show the increased costs.

Michael and his team were forced to provide full wall cleans, priced between $500 to $700 for the price of a spot wall clean which is significantly lower.

The costliest error made by the company occurred when the director used an AI tool to produce a quotation for a property needing extensive cleaning, which was valued at approximately $2,000.

Michael reviewed the drafted email but overlooked multiple errors in the message.

It wasn’t until a week later that he noticed the mistakes, but by then it was too late to fix them since the customer had already switched to another firm.
