Computex 2025 Set to Launch with Focus on AI Innovations

Major Technology Event Kicks Off in Taiwan

Computex 2025 is poised to begin, showcasing an impressive array of product announcements that highlight the latest advancements in chips, laptops, gaming devices, and more from top industry players. The event will commence on Sunday night (US time) with a keynote address by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, taking place at the Taipei Music Center. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available on NVIDIA’s YouTube channel.

Keynote Addresses and Focus Areas

Huang’s presentation is slated for 11 PM ET / 8 PM PT on May 18 (11 AM Taiwan Time on May 19). Attendees can anticipate insights into NVIDIA’s recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). Following Huang’s keynote, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon will also deliver a speech, further emphasizing the importance of AI within the event’s overarching theme: "AI Next."

This year, Computex will spotlight innovations across three primary categories: AI & Robotics, Next-Gen Technology, and Future Mobility.

Jensen Huang’s Return to Roots

Jensen Huang’s participation at Computex marks a significant homecoming. Originally hailing from Taiwan, he later immigrated to the United States, where he co-founded NVIDIA and has since played a pivotal role in the company’s leadership in AI technologies. Huang’s keynote comes after a week of intensified diplomatic engagements in the AI sector, including a collaboration with Middle Eastern nations, during which NVIDIA secured partnerships with tech firms in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Notably, NVIDIA has recently clarified its expansion strategy in China, emphasizing a cautious approach.

Exhibitors and Announcements

Approximately 1,400 exhibitors are expected to participate in Computex, featuring prominent brands such as ASUS, Acer, and AMD. Historically, these companies have made impactful announcements during the expo. Just ahead of the event, Acer has already released details on new products, including the Swift Edge AI laptop and five innovative gaming monitors. Senior reviewer Sam Rutherford has also previewed the Acer Predator Triton 14 AI gaming laptop, which he has hailed as his top gaming laptop pick of the year.
