On April 26, Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the guidelines and portal for Information Technology.

Manufacturing
The scheme (ECMS) that was informed on April 8, 2025.
This initiative seeks to build robust manufacturing strength and competencies, as well as link Indian enterprises with Global Value Chains (GVCs).
At the event kickoff, the Union Minister mentioned that electronic manufacturing has increased fivefold and exports have surged over six times, with export CAGR surpassing 20 percent and production CAGR exceeding 17 percent.
He mentioned that mobile phones, servers, laptops, and IT hardware have experienced remarkable growth, indicating that the sector is well-positioned for substantial expansion.
Vaishnaw characterized ECMS as a comprehensive framework designed to bolster various industries beyond electronics, including those involved in industry, energy, automobiles, and others. He highlighted that an all-encompassing environment for electronic production is being established throughout the nation.
Highlighting the significance of innovation and excellence, the Minister stated that numerous firms have created design groups, and it is crucial for each entity to establish similar teams as well.
Emphasizing quality, he urged for attaining Six Sigma standards throughout the industry, cautioning that those failing to meet these quality markers would face consequences. He emphasized that both enhancing design capabilities and pursuing quality excellence would propel India’s dominance in the field of electronics.
Vaishnaw also discussed India’s progress in
AI
and data-centric solutions. He mentioned that 350 datasets have already been uploaded onto
AI
Kosh, and four
AI
Tools created by the Indian Institutes of Technology will be made available shortly.
He also mentioned that they are working on techno-legal solutions to bolster the electronic ecosystem.
The Minister mentioned that ECMS has an impressive lineup of projects poised for approval and conveyed optimism that this signals the start of India’s accelerated development into a major global electronics center. (ANI)
